OH FUCK MY FEELS. That was a fucking terrific comic, best homeworlds yet in my opinion, because I feel like Garrus’ past is a bit deeper than some of the other characters in ME, and that ending oh my god, just wow my feels are all over the place now. LOOK AT HIS FACE IN THE FINAL PANEL OH GOD.

Oh my god what is this an ME comic actually worth buying???

Is there a Mass Effect directory?

Might make one.

We will remember Shepard.

EDI’s breath hitched as Garrus carefully placed the plaque on the wall. Her eyes widened as she quickly brought a hand up to her face, narrowing her eyes at the substance on her fingers.

“Shepard, may I ask you a question about human behavior?”

The woman nodded, pulling EDI aside.

“What is crying?”

Shepard tilted her head slightly, a curious look on her face. “You don’t know what it is?”

“Synthetics are unable to cry. To us, the correct term for crying would be leaking.”

“I suppose it’s when you’re overwhelmed with such emotion and you begin to…shed tears.” the commander said slowly, scrunching her nose as she fought to find the correct words.

“Many have said that you should not cry. Why is that?”

Shepard frowned slightly, scratching her head. “People believe crying shows a sign of weakness, but it’s not necessarily bad. There’s nothing wrong with crying.” she sighed, biting her lip. “It’s difficult to explain.”

EDI stared at the woman, processing the information. She nodded slightly, her hands behind her back. “Thank you, Shepard. I believe I understand now.”

She smiled, nodding at the synthetic. “Anytime, EDI.”

She was crying. Her eyes welled up with tears as she quickly wiped them away, confusion running through her as she tried to ignore the lump in her throat. Shepard was gone. She sacrificed herself in order for everyone to survive. To live a normal life. EDI brought herself to glance at the wall again, a pained look on her face as she read Shepard’s name over and over again, refusing to accept that she was truly gone.

Because of her, I am alive.

Garrus turned slightly, meeting eyes with EDI. She quickly looked at the ground, tears spilling onto it. He approached her as she looked up, her pained eyes meeting his sorrowful ones. The turian pulled her into a hug as she gratefully returned it, squeezing her eyes shut as more tears ran down her face. She let go of him, a small smile on her face as he nodded at her.

And I am not alone.
